Gilgit-Baltistan Election 2015..Can We Learn from Our Past Mistakes

Every five years we come across doing the practice of electing our represrntatives for the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assrmbly (GBLA). Every time new promises are chanted by the candidates and once they get elected they forget what they were saying just a few days or weeks ago and then with time even we the public give up asking them or reminding them.
I would like to discuss two aspects of this process.
The first is why is it so that these representatives so quickly turn away their faces from the claims they make during their election compaign? There are many reasons. The most obvious is that these candidates know what issues are very demanding for the public. They know how to instigate the dormant nature of a common man and awaken his or her interest in this election process. They chant these common public issues so often that the common man feels this is the person who knows our issues very well and gives the vpte for him/her but they wrll know the history that once they are done with the election process the public will remember thrm only ehen they need a chief guest for any public gathering/celebration.

Once get elected these representatives never dare to mention it again. They visit their constituency so rare that even if they come they are treated as guest and before anyone can remind him/her the old promises he/she is gone back to his place of hideout ‘the assembly’.
Now what should be done to avoid this,I will siscuss in some other time.

The second part is the ones who loss the elections. Though they too do their best to make ‘to be unfullfilled’ promises but some how they loss. Then they too dissappear from the area like they never existed. Once the elections are scheduled next time, they reappear with same old faces and words. This time again the public are fooled.
I wouldn’t like to suggest any rapid fix for these issues but once we get awarness that these elections going to have greater impact on atleast next five years of our lives then we may think some different way to value our vote.
